Every year, thousands of Kemp’s ridley sea turtles make their way up the Eastern seaboard this summer, but not all of them made it back as the cold weather came. The Florida Aquarium had to take in 10 turtle victims of what is known as “cold stunning”, a hypothermic reaction to prolonged cold water temperatures and its often fatal.

A new “predator derby” to take place in east central Idaho has conservationists frothing mad after it was revealed that wolves would be on the list of wildlife that hunters will be encouraged to kill.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service is facing a lawsuit from a group of environmentalists demanding that the agency create a new recovery plan to help the Mexican gray wolves survive. The group is also seeking the court’s help in monitoring the agency’s compliance.
