Inspired from sidewinders snakes, researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, Oregon State University and Zoo Atlanta got together and designed a robotic snake that can actually slide and move on various terrains without obstructions.

Researchers recognized the sidewinder snakes utilize a template for climbing on sand, two orthogonal waves they can command alone. Researchers learned there are three distinct failure regimes, which we can prevent by carefully correcting the aspect ratio of both waves, thereby commanding the region of the human body in contact with all the sand.

These snakes belonging to one of the very venomous types are more well known for their swift and hasty movements. Any topographic place can be moved on by them, they are able to slip across land, they are able to swim, they may even glide in atmosphere, and can climb rough surface. They are able to move over a sandy surface, inclined or simple, without falling back.
Sidewinder (Crotalus cerastes) also called horn viper, are the inhabitants of South western U.S. and parts of Mexico . These snakes belonging to one of the very venomous groups are more well-known for their swift and hasty movements. They are able to move on any topographic location, they can slide across land, they can swim, they may even glide in air, and can climb surface that is rough. They can move over a sandy surface, inclined or plain, without falling back.
To be able to design these robotic sidewinder snakes, researchers of the Universities went to Atlanta for a close review of locomotion of these snakes. These pioneering efforts of various hands can lend mankind with an interesting product which can achieve to places that are inaccessible and help in rescue and search operations.

On close examination, amazing results showed up. Researchers found that snake had an exceptional manner of lifting one segment other and vertically . In addition, side to side in addition they move up not go -down and each motion is directed to the surface at a right angle. It constantly keeps its head down towards the airplane while traversing up. “Researchers recognized the sidewinder snakes utilize a template for climbing on sand, two orthogonal waves they can command alone.
