Conspiracy theorists say that the Rosetta mission, the European Space Agency’s long, expensive and historic trip to rendezvous with and place an unmanned landing craft Comet 67P, was actually launched in order to investigate the possibility that the comet is an extraterrestrial spacecraft of some kind.

Both ESA and NASA are fully aware that 67P isn’t a comet at all but instead a massive, highly sophisticated alien spacecraft.

An unnamed, unverified source from within the ESA says that NASA, the US counterpart to the European agency, has been receiving radio signals from the comet for at least two decades preceding the launch of the Rosetta probe. Apparently this is the true impetus behind the historic space exploration mission.
Theorists say that the fact that the ESA had been reading some mysterious signals from within the comet in November is proof positive of the idea that there’s some sort of extraterrestrial craft buried deep inside the comet. The space agency says that the “song” emitted by the comet, which is occurring at frequencies far below the ability of the human ear to discern, is caused by oscillations in the magnetic field surrounding 67P. However, anonymous sources who claim to be associated with the ESA say that someone or something is possibly disguising extraterrestrial communications with the song, but had no answer as to who’s doing it, or why they would do it in the first place.
According to this anonymous tipster, both ESA and NASA are fully aware that 67P isn’t a comet at all but instead a massive, highly sophisticated alien spacecraft, remarking that there would be no reason for space agencies to expend billions on research and development to launch a 12-year long mission to a plain old comet, just to take some pictures from orbit and attempt to land a probe on the surface.

According to those within the conspiracy theorist community, after Rosetta launched its Philae lander to the surface of the comet, the photographs sent back by the spacecraft have revealed what have been called “anomalous structures” on the surface of the comet. Since none of the claims of these amateur and professional UFOlogists have been corroborated, it’s unclear whether there really are little green men living on the inside of the comet.
